      Moderator: David Drake DO, Family Psychiatry Des Moines.

Gene Bolles MD  "A Neurosurgeon’s Experiences of Modern War Casualties."  Chief of Neurosurgery for two years at Landstuhl Medical Center in Germany, where he treated thousands of casualties from the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Judith Cook MD "Health and Health Care Challenges in Post Conflict Situations: The Cases of Afghanistan and Liberia."  Physician from the United Kingdom and volunteer, Médecins du Monde.

Evan Kanter MD  "Veterans and PTSD."  Psychiatrist, neuroscientist, and social activist, practices in the Seattle VA Hospital and is active in the Washington Chapter of PSR.

B.  Students Share:  experiences perceptions challenges working with war impacted populations. 

Facilitator:  Des Moines University student, Marc Campbell PhD OM1

Discussants:  Alexis Bushnell on Cambodian landmine victims; University of Iowa medical student, Jennifer Carr M4 on VA PTSD sufferers; and University of Iowa nursing students Brandi Missel and Colleen Gallagher on working with refugee children.
